Our President -- Steve Howard

 

With over 20 years of experience in the third party logistics business, I joined the Patterson Companies in 2001 as a Divisional Manager and assumed the role of President and CEO in 2006.  Prior to my involvement in the third party logistics business, I worked as a truck driver.  My years of working over the road have kept me sensitive to the important services that our carriers and drivers provide.  I understand the daily challenges that they encounter and I work closely with the Patterson team to ensure that we remain focused on assisting the carriers and drivers in fulfilling their part in the transportation transaction.  

 

I am intimately involved in the day to day operations and am proud to have been a part of the leadership team that has driven the company to exceed over $100 million in revenue. Not only have we grown our top line revenue, we have done so with an intense focus on our bottom line profitability. Though many of our competitors have been plagued with financial difficulty in recent years, we had a record 2009 in terms of bottom line profitability, met our half year profit target and project that we will meet our financial objectives once again in 2010.  Our ability to demonstrate consistent growth and profitability is a testament to our ability to execute on our customer and company specific initiatives.

 

Our strong financial performance and healthy balance sheet provides us with the necessary capital to continue our substantial investment in our people, organization, processes and technology; even in these difficult economic times. We possess a very healthy working relationship with our financial institutions. An example of our financial strength is demonstrated by the fact that we are currently in the process of upgrading our entire technology platform and rolling out a new suite of software applications aimed at positioning the Patterson Companies uniquely among our peers in the third party logistics space. We began this effort in early 2009 and expect the major deliverables of this phase to be complete in the Fall of 2010.
